Fitting your Garmin QuickFit strap
Garmin QuickFit straps swap over in seconds and need no tools. The strap has the fitting already built into it, so there are no spring bars to lever out and nothing to screw in.
QuickFit is not the same as Quick Release. They sound almost identical and they are completely different fittings. QuickFit is Garmin's own mount: the strap ends in a moulded tab that locks into the watch. Quick release is an ordinary spring bar with a little lever on it, used on normal watches. A quick release strap will not fit a QuickFit watch, and a QuickFit strap will not fit anything else. If you are not sure which you have, look at the end of your current strap: a QuickFit strap ends in a solid shaped tab, not a thin metal bar.
Taking the old strap off
- Turn the watch over and look at where the strap meets the case. On the underside of the strap you will see a small lever or latch.
- Slide the lever across and hold it there. This pulls back the pin holding the strap in.
- With the lever held, swing the strap away from the watch face and lift it clear.
- Repeat for the other half.
Putting the new strap on
- Hold the new strap at a slight angle to the watch, with the tab lined up with the recess in the case.
- Locate the far edge of the tab first, then press the strap down flat until it clicks.
- Tug it gently. A QuickFit strap that has seated properly will not move at all. If there is any play, take it off and start again rather than wearing it.
- Repeat for the other half.
You should not need force. If it will not click home, the tab is very likely not square to the case, so back off and line it up again.
Which width do I need?
QuickFit comes in 20mm, 22mm and 26mm, and the one you need is decided entirely by your watch model. There is nothing to measure.
Search for your Garmin watch in our size finder and it will tell you the width straight away. The table below covers the most common models.
| Garmin watch model | QuickFit width |
| Fenix 5S, Fenix 6S, Fenix 7S | 20mm |
| Fenix 5, Fenix 5 Plus, Fenix 6, Fenix 7 | 22mm |
| Fenix 3, Fenix 3 HR, Fenix 5X, Fenix 6X, Fenix 7X, Enduro | 26mm |
| Approach S60, Approach S62 | 22mm |
| Forerunner 745, 935, 945 | 22mm |
| Instinct | 22mm |
| quatix 3 | 26mm |
| quatix 5, quatix 6 | 22mm |
| quatix 6X | 26mm |
| D2 Charlie | 26mm |
| Descent MK1, Descent MK2 | 26mm |
| Foretrex 601, Foretrex 701 | 26mm |
| Tactix Bravo | 26mm |
Note that the S models take a narrower strap than the standard size, and the X models take a wider one. A Fenix 7S, 7 and 7X are three different widths despite being the same watch family.

Want to use a normal watch strap instead?
You can. Our QuickFit spring bar adapters clip into the watch exactly like a QuickFit strap, and give you an ordinary pair of lugs on the other side, so you can then wear most two piece straps.
The adapter width and the strap width are not the same number. A 26mm QuickFit adapter takes a 22mm strap, a 22mm adapter takes a 20mm strap, and a 20mm adapter takes an 18mm strap. Order the adapter for your watch first, then the strap in the size the adapter accepts.
Straight ended straps only, and our Military Velcro, Supreme and Sharktooth Militex straps are too thick for the adapters.
