Worthy upgrade with concerns about longevity

I appreciate the vast range of options these straps give to so many types of watches. I had previously purchased similar watch straps from the USA and was really glad some local entrepreneur in Australia started something here.
The strap and accessories I purchased for my Samsung Watch 5 pro came quickly and I was very happy to no longer be using the infuriating standard strap that came undone when it caught on the easy to release mechanism which became too frequent to ignore.
I am concerned about the longevity of the material strap as only after 2 months of regular wearing I can see fraying and the catch hole is getting bigger - hence one star off.
I think I will be purchasing a silicone band in the near future.

    Thank you John!

With nylon based straps, fraying is a normal phenomenon as the heat sealing will deteriorate as the tongue of the buckle (or anything else) brushes along the material. This is similar to cotton/woollen jumpers when they develop balls of fluff.

This is easy to fix though.

    1. If there's any excess fraying, you should first trim any excess fraying off with scissors. This is a good idea when fraying is occurring at the buckle holes to do first as any excess fraying will be heat sealed and if it's bulky, it will be heat sealed in this position which may cause irritation.

    2. With a lighter, you can very lightly 'brush' an open flame onto the area that is fraying. Make sure to not touch the flame onto the strap and this will blacken the strap. Gently brush (as if you were painting) the flame around the area until the fraying recedes (it should happen in less than 1 second).

Avoid concentrating the flame in one spot as this will burn and char the nylon.

    Hope this helps!
